Based on a Canadian price leak on microsoft.com, Inside Microsoft figures Windows Vista may cost from US$99 for the home upgrade, to a max of $349 for Vista Ultimate.
While Inside is thrilled, I wonder what might happen if Redmond exploited the power of the Internet to deliver a stripped, download-only copy at a really hot price.
Who knows? By coaxing Win98/ME/NT/XP-holdouts in from the cold and converting a few pirates, they might just discover a bigger-than-bean-counted bump in net revenue.
