The phones are ringing off the hook at the Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin cop shop… six calls in two days.
The problem? Perhaps you’ve heard of them: eBay scams. (To be fair, cops describe them as based on “auction sites like eBay”… but who are they kidding?)
Chippewa Falls peace officers say at least one of these these scams comes with a new twist. The scammer in Ohio forwards shipments to the Big Cheese in Nigeria. Get it?
The scammer in Ohio is really just a middleman!
Apparently, the 13,000 souls of Chippewa Falls don’t get much Internet action. I wouldn’t be shock to find out that all this ruckus eminates from one scammee won’t stop calling the cops.
Aren’t those small town rubes quaint?
