BJ: Sony’s among those who came sniffing around Bertelsmann’s house this week, as the media giant seeks to dump BMG Music Publishing.

You undoubtedly remember that Sony and Bertelsmann are tied up in a fractious joint effort known as Sony-BMG.

That crew is most famous for selling albums with embedded rootkits that tore up Windows computers, all in the name of Digital Rights Management.

Since then, they’ve settled a class action, and many of the perps have seen the cells that once held their names on the Sony-BMG organizational chart vanish.

And now this. Couldn’t happen to a more deserving crew.
